HOW TO REDUCE YOUR SUGAR INTAKE

    large

I won’t lie but cutting down on sugar can be real tough. Not only do we have to watch the amount in which we add to our tea or cereal we also have to be-careful of the ones added by manufacturers of different drinks and snacks, which is far more difficult to monitor. Most of you might be thinking “Does this mean no more chocolates or cakes or even cookies?” =0. No, it means that Fabian Whyte would be telling you the best ways to reduce the amount of sugar you consume.

    1. Stop drinking sweetened carbonated soda and eating sweets.

Let’s start with the easiest and the fastest way to cut down your sugar intake is by eliminating sodas and sweets from your diet list. A soda can or bottle contains up to 10 teaspoons of sugar, so if you drink like Sugar-in-Drinksfive canned or bottled soda a day, you’re obviously calling the shots to your death or an illness. Sweets are basically just melted coloured & flavoured sugar, in different kinds of shapes and sizes.

    1. Check the labels

I will like to advice that you check the ingredients of the product you want to purchase for the amount of sugar that was added in it. But please note that it wouldn’t just be called sugar, it could also have names like Corn syrup, Syrup Fructose, maltose, Lactose, etc.

    1. Choose wisely when dinning out

Be careful with what you eat. Not all is gold. Just because its salad and has vegetables in it doesn’t mean it ain’t got its twist…the dressing. The salad dressing includes a bit of sugar so when you eat a salad you have to be a little bit careful with it.

    1. Cut out refined sugar gradually

I know it is a lil bit tough for you guys, especially for all them sugar freaks, but it’s okay take your time, no one is telling you to rush it. You can start with simple steps like replacing your sugar urges, like Reduce-Sugar-Intakereplacing soda with water or a fruit juice. Continue with this simple routine before you know it you wouldn’t feel the need anymore.

    1. Bring in the Greens

Ensure to have a lot of vegetables around you fill up your house with them so each time you get a little hungry you can just reach for something healthy. Also throw in a little veges in your cooking. You can avoid using calorie infested spices and go for cinnamon and vanilla. Apples, Bananas, Grapes, etc. these are the nicest fruits to have around you.

    1. About the fruit Juice

We all know there is sugar added in manufactured fruit juice, even if they write ‘200% natural’ there is still sugar inside. Most people recommend its better to get your juice from the actual fruit, where the sugar is less.

It is most advised to have not to add sugar when eating cereals, cause there is already sugar in them. You can just pour your milk (cold water if necessary) and put peanuts, honey, dried fruits or real fruits (sliced) inside.

    1. Try new flavors

Try experimenting on new flavors, there are so many foods that don’t require sugar, so try them out. You can find out new recipes and even make the old ones even better and I bet it’d be fun.

So don’t be afraid of dropping out on sugar and if you think it’s a silly idea you could read the article again. Have fun being sugar free.
