THE HISTORY BEHIND MY AFWN ANKARA NUMBER

Welcome back everyone, don’t run away just yet due to the word ‘history’ it’s not a long story but it’s quite the tale.
The Ankara top I wore for the African Fashion Week Nigeria was originally a gown *tah daaahhhh*.

Yeah, it was a gown made for my cousin’s traditional wedding back in 2012, which I never attended. But ever since then it has come in as a handy number. This dress was quite famous on Facebook back then earning me my well deserved likes and Facebook’s most famous comments like ‘nyz pics’ & kul pix’ I felt like the ‘fweshest’ girl, you know ‘kulest kid’.
But recently I felt I have out grown the style (PS. I could still fit into the dress, except the bust area was a bit tight) so I wanted to give it out.
During the days leading to the AFWN I realized I had nothing to wear and then it hit me ‘why not switch up the style of this dress?’ and so I did and now I have this four way Ankara number which can also be worn as a skirt.

I wore it as a one shoulder poncho, paired it up with a black calf length skinny jeans and flats; and I was good to go.

So that’s the history behind my outfit for the AFWN.

    Catch you again next time.
Don’t forget to like comment and share. And if you have any switch up experience don’t forget to share.
